Brondby majority shareholder Jan Bech Andersen admits that the club will do all they can to sign Daniel Agger, but insists the timing must be right for the 29-year-old to return.

Agger swapped Brondby for Liverpool in 2006 and returned to his former stomping ground earlier this summer when the Reds fulfilled the friendly match agreed on as part of the deal eight-and-a-half years ago.

The Danish international's return instantly had Brondby dreaming of once again calling Agger their own and, with the defender struggling to command a regular starting spot at Liverpool, an approach was urged in some quarters.

But while Agger may be on the move from Liverpool this summer, Andersen feels the time must be right for any approach, despite suggesting all the stops will be pulled out to sign the centre-back at some point.

"He is a dream player, there's no doubt about that. We will go very, very far to get Daniel", the Brondby supremo told 3point.

"However, as he said when he was here with Liverpool, the timing must be right.

"So let us hope that the two ends meet. We will always do everything in our power."

Andersen is sure though that at the same time Brondby must adopt a responsible approach to bringing Agger back to his native Denmark.

"It is clear that we must be responsible and we must do what is the right thing at the right time.

"But to answer the question [about bringing him back], yes we are doing everything we can, if and when the opportunity arises, to see that both ends can meet."

Agger has just been landed with another competitor for a centre-back spot at Liverpool this summer, after the Reds snapped up Dejan Lovren from Southampton.
