Mexican World Cup hero Guillermo Ochoa has joined La Liga outfit Malaga on a three-year contract.

Ochoa, who came to prominence with his performances for Mexico in the World Cup, was being closely followed by a number of top European clubs.

His contract with French Ligue 2 outfit Ajaccio expired this summer and his free agent status made him a hot property in the transfer market.

Malaga’s interest in the Mexican number one was reported earlier this week and the deal has reached a swift conclusion.

Ochoa and his agent arrived in Spain yesterday and the 29-year-old underwent a medical at the club earlier today.
