Barcelona star Neymar has insisted that expects to be 100 per cent fit before the start of the upcoming La Liga campaign.

The Brazil international fractured his third lumbar vertebra under a challenge from Juan Camilo Zuniga during his nation’s World Cup quarter-final game against Colombia last month.

Neymar, who joined Barcelona from Santos last summer, was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the tournament.

However, the 22-year-old is pleased with his recovery process and expects to be fully fit by the time the new La Liga season commences.

"I am recovering from the injury day by day. I'll be coming back to Barcelona 100 per cent fit", he told Barcelona’s official site.

Neymar, who had a mixed first campaign at the Camp Nou, failing to pick up a major trophy, further added that he wants to have a “really good season” this time around.

"I want to have a really good season and I'm looking forward to helping my team-mates to get some good results", he added.

Barcelona will begin their new La Liga campaign with a home fixture against Elche on 24th August.
