Celtic manager Ronny Deila is sure that his side's re-admittance to the Champions League will help him attract players before the club take on NK Maribor in their playoff round tie.

The Scottish champions were dumped out of the Champions League at the third qualifying round stage by Polish side Legia Warsaw, who recorded a comfortable 6-1 win.

However, the Polish side fielded an ineligible player and as such UEFA ruled the second leg to be a forfeit, giving Celtic a 3-0 win in the fixture, which meant they progressed on away goals.

Now Deila is looking to bring in fresh faces ahead of the club's playoff round date with Maribor.

"Of course, there are many aspects of keeping players and getting players in but that [Champions League football] is one of those aspects", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"It is a vital thing [getting back in]. It will lift the team and performance."

Celtic may be looking at players to come in, but one of their number looks on the way out after they accepted an offer from Southampton for goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Southampton have agreed a £10m fee with Celtic for the England international goalkeeper.
