Olympiacos are eyeing taking advantage of Leeds United's failure to push a deal for Juventus defender Frederik Sorensen over the line.

Sorensen was in England last week ahead of sealing a season-long loan switch to Leeds, a move which would have also given the Yorkshire giants the option to snap him up on a permanent basis should he impress.

But the Dane's move to Elland Road has broken down over unspecified issues which arose during talks with Sorensen's agent.

And that has left the door open for Greek champions Olympiacos to potentially take the 22-year-old to Piraeus.

Juventus are chasing Olympiacos' Greek international defender Kostas Manolas. And according to CalcioNews24, Olympiacos are considering asking for Sorensen to come the other way as part of the deal.

Olympiacos and Juventus are also looking at other potential makeweights in the deal, with defensive pair Marco Motta and Reto Ziegler also under the microscope.

Manolas impressed during the World Cup with Greece and is a priority target for Juventus, CEO Giuseppe Marotta pulling out all the stops to take him to Turin.

The 23-year-old centre-back joined Olympiacos in 2012 from AEK Athens.
