Alberto Moreno claims he is "super motivated" to succeed at Liverpool, confirming he is indeed set to sign for last season's Premier League runners-up.

Liverpool have been linked with the Spanish left-back throughout the summer, but have had difficultly hammering out a deal with Sevilla.

They recently achieved a breakthrough however and Moreno was withdrawn from Sevilla's squad for last night's UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid in Cardiff.

Now he is preparing to embark upon a new adventure, while at the same time being well aware that leaving the only club he has ever played for is an emotional task. Indeed, the defender was seen to be in tears with his team-mates last night.

"I am living a strange situation because I'm leaving the club of my life", he told Spanish outlet ABC.

"I was always aware of the two teams [negotiating] to agree. I never got into that but Sevilla have understood that Liverpool's offer was good and I am going.

"[We have had] many feelings together. What happened on the pitch, with the fans, will remain forever etched on me and I could not help but mourn because I did not expect it.

"First came the parting with colleagues, then with the fans…all very complicated.

"Liverpool are a great team and of course I'm super-motivated. I hope things go well."
