AC Milan feel that Torino’s asking price for Atletico Madrid target and Italian winger Alessio Cerci is too high.

Cerci has become the subject of a transfer tug-of-war between Milan and Atletico Madrid this summer and both clubs are not pleased with Torino’s asking price.

Il Toro are ready to dig their heels in on the issue of selling Cerci and are in no mood to sell their prized asset for anything less than €20m.

The Spanish champions are ready to increase their bid to around €16m for the 27-year-old, but that is still short of Torino’s asking price.

The Milan hierarchy met yesterday to discuss their transfer strategy and especially deliberated their move for Cerci.

There is unanimity among Milan’s top officials, including manager Filippo Inzaghi, that Torino’s asking price for the Italian winger is too much, according to Corriere della Sera.

Milan are still willing to negotiate with the Turin-based outfit to bring the price down, but they are not willing to fork out €20m for Cerci.

It remains to be seen whether Torino are willing to drop their price for the player, who still has two years left on his contract with the club.
