Victor Moses has revealed that Mark Hughes was one of the key reasons he decided to join Stoke City on a loan deal from Chelsea.

The Nigerian international joined Stoke from Chelsea on a season-long loan deal on Saturday. He also spent the last season on loan, turning out at Liverpool.

The former Wigan winger has expressed his delight at joining the Potters and said that he spoke to Hughes before moving to the club.

"I'm very delighted to be here", Moses told Stoke City Player.

"I spoke to the manager before I came and it looks as though the club is moving in the right direction.”

Moses claimed that he had a number of offers on the table, but Stoke’s ambition and Hughes presence at the club made the choice easy for him.

"I had a few options to go to other clubs but when I heard about Stoke I knew that they had a good manager and I thought it would be good to come here and work under him.”

Stoke will be hoping that Moses’ experience in the Premier League, where he has played 116 games for three different clubs, will make a difference this season.
