Bulgarian giants Levski Sofia have confirmed that former Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov is in London for talks with West Ham.

Levski Sofia do not want to lose the striker, however the club's sporting director has confirmed that a clause in Bojinov's contract has rendered them helpless.

"We had to let him go because we have an agreement. I allowed him to travel to England because I am contractually required to do so", Georgi Ivanov told Bulgarian National Radio.

However, the sporting director is keen to stress that Bojinov remains a Levski Sofia player until he puts pen to paper with another club.

"But he remains a Levski player until he signs with another team."

In recent years the striker has turned out for Lecce, Hellas Verona and Vicenza on loan. He returned to his homeland with Levski Sofia in January.
