Belgium international goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is confident that his compatriot Divock Origi will be a success at Liverpool.

The Reds signed the 19-year-old striker from Lille last month and the Belgian was sent back on a season-long loan deal to the French outfit.

"He is a very exciting player and a huge prospect, and he will have one more year with Lille", the goalkeeper told the club’s official site.

Mignolet believes that Origi has a great future ahead of him at Liverpool once he returns to Anfield next season from Lille.

"I'm sure that after that he'll play very well for Liverpool. He's got a huge future ahead of him. I wish him all the best this season and hopefully we'll see him soon.”

The shot-stopper confirmed that very few people knew about the striker, but Christian Benteke’s injury allowed the 19-year-old to show his worth for Belgium in the World Cup.

Mignolet further added that the forward’s talent came to the fore once he started training with the Belgian senior squad.

"When we arrived with the Belgium squad, nobody had really heard about him to be honest. He played at Lille but had never been called up for the full squad, just the U21s.

"Because Christian Benteke was unfortunately injured, we needed a striker – he came in and from the first day in training he showed his ability. In the games, he showed what he was all about."
