John Arne Riise, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, has confirmed that Paul Lambert's men are one of several sides in England chasing his signature.

Riise parted ways with Fulham earlier this year and is on the lookout for a new club. He has attracted interest from Spain, in addition to England.

The 33-year-old, who is best known for his spell with Liverpool during which he won the Champions League, has now vowed to sit down with his family and assess the offers which head his way.

"There is interest from several English teams and Aston Villa are one of these", he told VG.

"But there is nothing on the table now.
