PSV Eindhoven striker Luuk de Jong admits he is worried about the prospect of the club losing the services of Memphis Depay, along with his team-mate Georginio Wijnaldum.

Transfer speculation is swirling around the pair, with Depay especially having been linked with a move elsewhere, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur on his tail.

PSV are desperately hoping to keep their starlets this summer as they bid to put together a tilt at the Eredivisie title.

And De Jong, who joined the club earlier this summer from Borussia Monchengladbach, admits he is concerned about the duo walking out of the exit door at the Philips Stadion.

"Of course I am afraid that Memphis and Gini leave", De Jong told Voetbal International.

"It's never fun to lose good players.

"But for the moment, that is not the case, so it's hard to analyse it with much sense."

Should the pair depart though, De Jong does feel PSV will be able to cover their absence, if merely by taking a leaf out of rivals Ajax's book.

"At Ajax they have shown in recent years that the departure of very good players does not need to be fatal.

"It gives other players the chance to prove themselves."
