Bolton Wanderers manager Douglas Freedman fears that he will miss the opportunity to sign Jordon Ibe on a loan deal from Liverpool this summer.

Ibe joined Liverpool from Wycombe in 2012 and gradually progressed through the ranks to make his league debut against Queens Park Rangers in 2013.

The 18-year-old winger is highly rated at Anfield and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to send him on a loan deal to further his development, in a similar matter to last term, when Ibe spent time at Birmingham City.

Freedman admits that he was trying to sign the England youth international last season on a loan deal and has again made an enquiry for him this summer.

“We've tried to get the loan done going back to last season”, the Scot said at a press conference, via his club’s official feed.

“We've made another enquiry."

However, the 40-year-old feels that Bolton are going to miss out on Ibe again as a number of clubs are lining up a loan deal for the winger.

“There are a few other clubs interested in Jordon now. It seems like we'll probably get pipped at the post."

Ibe has made three senior appearances for Liverpool.
