Tottenham Hotspur youngster Tom Carroll insists he is relishing the opportunity to play for Swansea City after being told "only good things" about the Welsh club by defender Ben Davies.

Spurs signed Davies from Swansea earlier this summer and Carroll spoke extensively to the defender before agreeing to join the Swans on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old took the opportunity to sound Davies out about a switch to the Liberty Stadium and, following a glowing report, cannot wait to get started with Garry Monk's men.

"Ben only had good things about Swansea", Carroll told the Welsh club's site.

"He obviously knows the club inside and out, and he told me that I would love it here. He spoke very highly about the club and people", the midfielder continued.

"I’ve had experience playing in the Premier League with Tottenham and it’s something I’d love to experience more here at Swansea."

Carroll has gone straight into the Swansea squad for today's Premier League clash against Burnley at the Liberty Stadium.
