Daley Blind can offer no news about a potential transfer to Manchester United, despite suggestions Louis van Gaal is set to swoop for his countryman before the transfer window slams shut.

The Netherlands international has been consistently linked with Manchester United throughout the summer, the Red Devils now bossed by former Oranje coach Van Gaal.

But Blind, who played what could be his final game for Ajax today, if a transfer does go through, cannot offer any news.

Asked about the Manchester United link by NOS, Blind shook his head and said: "I have had no news for weeks."

Blind's Ajax lost 3-1 today to PSV Eindhoven at the Amsterdam ArenA and the left-back-cum-midfielder praised the visitors' counter attacking talent.

"At counter attacking football PSV can be very good", he said.

"They had some chances, but we had to finish it. We started reasonably in the second half, but they came up with two counters and finished it."

The defeat ends Ajax's 100 per cent record in the Eredivisie this season.
