Chelsea captain John Terry has talked up Diego Costa's talent, explaining the striker is the player all Blues stars want on their side during training matches.

Costa arrived at Chelsea earlier this summer after the Premier League club activated his €38m release clause at Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

He has made an instant impact, scoring in successive Chelsea Premier League wins over Burnley and Leicester.

And Terry is impressed with the Spain international's quality, seeing it close up day in day out on the training pitch.

"Diego scored goals in pre-season and he’s been unbelievable in training", the defender told his club's site.

"He’s one of those that you want to be on your side when the bibs are handed out.

"I knew he was a very good player but I didn’t realise how good until I played against him in the Champions League.

"He’s a real handful and he can play. He can get it, he can turn, he’s quick, he’s powerful and more importantly he can score goals. He’s in the right place at the right time."

Terry also explained that Costa is settling in well, despite the language barrier.

"He’s been great around the dressing room without speaking any English at all. He’s funny because he gets on with everyone and people translate and help out.

"He’s really settled in off the pitch and the goals obviously help too."
