Wolfsburg are racing to beat Juventus to the signature of Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski, with a three-year contract on the table for the 29-year-old at the Volkswagen Arena.

Podolski, who is moving closer and closer to the Arsenal exit door, is thought have already given the green light to a contract with Juventus, though the ball is now in the Italian side's court to thrash out a deal with the Gunners.

But the Bianconeri face opposition, with Wolfsburg keen on snapping up the former 1.FC Koln hitman.

According to L'Equipe, Podolski is close to agreeing a three-year contract, with a year's extension option, with Wolfsburg, which would see him return to his homeland.

The Wolves now have to try and reach an agreement with Arsenal, with whom Podolski is under contract until 2016.
