Argentine midfielder Javier Mascherano has signed a new four-year contract with Barcelona.

The 30-year-old arrived in the Nou Camp from Liverpool in 2010 and has made 184 appearances for the Catalan giants.

He has won two Spanish league titles, a Champions League and a Club World Cup, among other honours, with the Blaugrana.

The former Liverpool man was linked with a move to Napoli earlier this summer, but all the speculation has been put to rest with the signing of the new contract.

The new deal will keep him at Barcelona until June 2018 and contains a release clause of €100m.
