Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is eyeing a raid on his former club Cagliari as he looks to bolster the Whites squad before the transfer window slams shut.

Cellino is already dealing with Cagliari over Brazilian midfielder Adryan, but now another player has caught his eye as fitting the bill at Elland Road.

The man in question is 27-year-old midfielder Daniele Dessena, a player Cagliari first signed in 2009 from Sampdoria.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Cellino is pushing hard to convince Cagliari to part with Dessena and the midfielder to move to England.

Born in Parma, Dessena started his career with his hometown club, eventually making the grade with the senior side in 2004.
