A trio of Queens Park Rangers, Genoa and Sampdoria are chasing Inter Milan defender Matias Silvestre.

The Argentine, who joined the Nerazzurri from Palermo last summer, spent last season on loan to city neighbours AC Milan.

The 29-year-old failed to make an impact at the Rossoneri and injuries coupled with bad form allowed him to make only four league appearances last season.

Inter are keen to offload the defender this summer and are actively seeking buyers for the Argentine.

The Italian duo of Genoa and Sampdoria have already agreed a fee with Inter, but are competing with each other to negotiate personal terms with the player, according to Sky Italia.

QPR, who are scouring the market for defenders this summer, are also keeping an eye on Silvestre and have the financial means to outmuscle the Italians in the race.

The Argentine has made 160 appearances in Serie A for four different clubs and it remains to be seen whether he wants to move out of Italy at this juncture of his career.
