Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to try and work his charm on Adrien Rabiot's mother, as he bids to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder before the transfer window closes.

Rabiot has just one year left on his contract at the Parc des Princes and PSG have decided to offload him for the right price rather than watch him walk away on a free transfer next summer.

The French champions have recently become annoyed with Rabiot, who skipped training on Monday, explaining he had missed his plane, and then refused to take part in a group session yesterday, complaining of discomfort in his foot.

PSG are now convinced Rabiot's head is elsewhere and the 19-year-old is wanted by Arsenal, AC Milan, Roma and Juventus.

Tomorrow Veronique Rabiot, the midfielder's mother, will be in London for talks with Wenger, according to Sky Italia.

Veronique is searching for the best solution for her son and Wenger will try to charm the player's mother into steering him into a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Rabiot has been concerned about a lack of regular first team football at PSG and coach Laurent Blanc has done little to ease his fears, despite insisting the club do not want him to leave.

That stance has now changed and PSG are thought to be ready to sell the France Under-21 star for a little over €10m.
