Leicester City are moving to wrap up the signing of free agent midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, with the Argentine on his way to England.

The Premier League club have been working hard to convince Cambiasso his future would be best served at the King Power Stadium – and it appears their efforts have paid off.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the 34-year-old is now on his way to England to undergo a medical with the Foxes, ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract.

Cambiasso has been chased consistently this summer by Leicester boss Nigel Pearson, who will be delighted to get his man.

The midfielder ended a ten-year association with Italian giants Inter earlier this summer and has been on the lookout for a new challenge.

That will now come at Leicester, with the newly-promoted club hoping Cambiasso can help in their battle against relegation.

The 34-year-old won 52 caps for Argentina between 2000 and 2011.
