Legendary Italian striker Alessandro Del Piero will join Indian Super League Side New Delhi Dynamos as their marquee player.

It was reported earlier this month that the Delhi side made a lucrative approach for the striker and the Italian was seriously considering their offer.

The 39-year-old was also negotiating a move to Hungary with Honved FC, but instead chose India as the next destination in his football career.

The former Juventus striker agreed a deal with the New Delhi team yesterday and the player will be officially unveiled later today, according to Indian daily Times of India.

Del Piero will also act as the brand ambassador of the franchise-based tournament that is set to start this October.
