The agent of former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is confident his client will join a big club before Christmas.

Valdes decided to leave Barcelona when his contract expired this summer, but picked up a cruciate knee ligament injury in March and as a result has not been snapped up by any side, remaining a free agent.

His recovery however is on course and his agent believes it is only a matter of time until the big clubs come calling for the 32-year-old.

"He can sign a contract at any time and I am convinced that we will see Valdes at a big team before Christmas", Gines Carvajal told Cadena Ser.

"His rehabilitation is going well, but we do not know when he will be fully recovered", the agent added.
