Atletico Madrid have won the race for winger Alessio Cerci, scooping up the Italy international from Torino.

Cerci had also interested AC Milan and Arsenal, but Diego Simeone's Spanish champions will benefit from his services this term.

The 27-year-old will undergo a medical with Atletico Madrid tomorrow ahead of putting pen to paper on a three-year contract at the Vicente Calderon.

Torino had been open to selling Cerci this summer, but slapped a €20m asking price on his head.

It is not clear whether Atletico Madrid have agreed to pay €20m for Cerci, but they have got their man.

Torino signed Cerci from Fiorentina in 2012 and the winger has flourished at the club, winning his first cap for Italy last year.

He now joins an Atletico Madrid side bidding to retain the title they won last season.
