Javier Hernandez has passed a medical at Real Madrid ahead of joining the club on a season-long loan deal from Manchester United.

The Mexican striker arrived in Madrid earlier today and underwent a medical with Los Blancos.

Hernandez, who arrived at Manchester United in 2010 from Mexican club Guadalajara, made only six league starts under David Moyes last season.

With Louis van Gaal preferring the partnership of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie, the Mexican was angling for a move away from the club.

Real Madrid were in the market to sign a striker and have quickly snapped up the opportunity to sign the 26-year-old on a season-long loan deal.
