Leeds United are moving to try and complete the signing of Leonardo Pavoletti, a player it had appeared they had missed out on.

The Sassuolo striker was being chased by Cesena and Palermo, but according to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, it is Leeds who have won the race for Pavoletti.

The striker had appeared to be heading to Genoa earlier in the transfer window, with the Rossoblu moving to complete a deal for the hitman.

Pavoletti hit 20 goals in just 36 Serie B games for Varese last season, further boosting his stock.

Leeds have been working overtime to secure a deal for Pavoletti and the signs are that they have succeeded.
