Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku believes the level of training at national team training camps is higher than that at many of the biggest clubs in the world.

Lukaku is currently away on international duty with Belgium and is clear that he did not want to miss the chance to meet up with his Red Devils team-mates, many of whom play for some of Europe's elite sides.

The Everton hitman explained to RTBF: "The season has started and everyone wants to be here.

"There is good competition within the national team and no one is ever sure of their place. All the players want to show off to the coach.

"The level of training is higher than at the big clubs because we play with the best Belgian players", the former Chelsea man added.

However, despite believing Belgium ooze talent, Lukaku acknowledges that there are areas the side need to work on.

"Everyone knows we have a young team and we must improve in some areas to become one of the best teams in the world.

"We've been working on attacking phases and set pieces."
