Fabio Borini is aiming to better his goal tally from last season with Liverpool this year.

The Italian forward spent last term on loan at Sunderland and was widely tipped to leave Anfield this summer after Liverpool accepted bids from the Black Cats and QPR for his services.

But Borini stayed put after snubbing both destinations and has now set his sights on flourishing at Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers.

"From this season, I expect a lot of things", he told Radio Deejay.

"I want to set a record in terms of personal goals. Last year I scored ten", he added.

Borini needed 40 games in all competitions for Sunderland to hit ten goals last term.

With fierce competition in the Liverpool squad this season, the former Roma man may not receive the same amount of game time over the course of the campaign.
