Monaco academy director Nicolas Weber believes that the principality side have an advantage over rivals Paris Saint-Germain because they are willing to hand chances to young talents.

PSG are battling to convince homegrown talents to remain at the club, a battle they have already lost with Mamadou Sakho, who joined Liverpool, and Kingsley Coman, who departed for Juventus.

Midfielder Adrien Rabiot is also refusing to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes over worries about a lack of playing time.

And Weber thinks Monaco can benefit from rival clubs not being willing to trust in the talents they produce.

"It is true that compared to PSG and Real Madrid, who are clubs with performance training centres, the policy of the first team is not focused on young talents. I'm in the right place", he told Nice-Matin.

"Both clubs are mostly for others. At Monaco players are formed for the first team.

Monaco may look for young talents to step up this season, having sold James Rodriguez to Real Madrid and loaned Radamel Falcao to Manchester United.
