Iago Aspas has spoken of his delight at turning out for La Liga side Sevilla, explaining he feels like a footballer once again.

The Spaniard is on loan for the season at Sevilla from Liverpool, where he fell out of favour last season and spent the majority of the year warming the bench.

Aspas joined Liverpool from Celta Vigo last summer, but found competition for a starting spot tough and soon found himself on the fringes.

He was desperate to move on this summer and got his wish when Los Rojiblancos came calling.

"Since I came to Sevilla, I set the goal of feeling like a footballer once again", he told Estadio Deportivo.

"After a year without playing it is almost like starting from scratch", Aspas continued.

"With games and minutes I will gain confidence."

The striker is still waiting to make his La Liga debut for Sevilla, having sat on the bench for the club's opening games of the season, against Valencia and Espanyol respectively.

He did however feature in the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid.
