Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera is impressed with the new players the club have brought in.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal handed debuts to Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind in today's 4-0 drubbing of QPR at Old Trafford, while Angel di Maria made his home debut and Radamel Falcao came off the bench for his first taste of life as a Manchester United player.

Herrera, who was himself signed earlier this summer and scored Manchester United's second goal of the afternoon with a well-taken low drilled shot, is purring at being able to play alongside such stars.

And the former Athletic Bilbao man could not rate them more highly.

"The new players are top players, Di Maria, Falcao, Rojo, Blind, [Luke] Shaw", the Spaniard told the BBC.

"We are looking forward to this season.

"This is our first step but it was important to win the game, we have a long week of work and if we win we have confidence", Herrera added.

Manchester United are next in action against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium next weekend as they aim to clock up their second consecutive victory.
