Former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Nicolas Anelka has confirmed that he is joining Mumbai FC for the inaugural season of the Indian Super League.

Anelka is without a club after he terminated his contract with West Brom in March this year.




It emerged earlier this month that the Frenchman was in talks to join the new venture in India.

And the Frenchman has finally confirmed that he joining Mumbai FC and said that he is excited about the new project in India.
 


"I'm pleased to join Mumbai City FC and very exciting in joining Indian Super League”, Anelka said through his official Twitter account.

Former Sunderland boss Peter Reid was appointed as the manager of Mumbai FC earlier this month and will now be able to call upon Anelka's services in the Indian Super League.
