PSV Eindhoven have had their Eredivisie title push and Europa League campaign dealt a blow with the news that winger Memphis Depay could be out of action until the middle of November.

Depay shone at the World Cup, attracting interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as a result, and started the season in red hot form for Phillip Cocu's PSV Eindhoven.

The 20-year-old, who the Dutch club tied to a new contract this summer, has scored eight goals in eight appearances so far, along with providing three assists for his team-mates.

Depay was struck in the groin in PSV Eindhoven's Eredivisie clash against Zwolle on Saturday, which finished in a 3-1 defeat for Cocu's men.

There were instantly fears for the winger and now those have been realised.

Depay will be out of action for between six to eight weeks, meaning it could be into November before he is fit to return.

That will see the winger miss several key Eredivisie games along with a number of Europa League clashes.
