Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits that the Gunners were lucky to only lose 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund tonight.

Arsene Wenger's men were outclassed in the Champions League in Germany, with Dortmund sending wave after wave of players forward and controlling the game with a high tempo.

Jurgen Klopp's men took the lead through Ciro Immobile on the stroke of half time, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the hosts' advantage in the 48th minute.

Dortmund had chances to score more goals, spurning them, while Arsenal were restricted to just four attempts on goal on a thoroughly forgettable night for the Gunners.

And Szczesny believes it could have been worse.

"It wasn’t good. We lost two goals and it was probably lucky that we didn’t concede more. They counter-attacked us very well", the goalkeeper said via his club's site.

"On another day they probably could have finished more [chances] so it was very disappointing."

However, the Poland international is now downbeat, stressing Arsenal have another five group games to play.

"We’ve got six games to play. We lost the first one, which was an important one, but we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get some momentum over the next couple of games at home, and hopefully put ourselves in the mix."
