Celtic assistant boss John Collins has warned his team about making sloppy mistakes against Red Bull Salzburg tomorrow in the Europa League, insisting they will be punished for doing so.

The Bhoys slipped out of the Champions League earlier this summer and are now set to start their Europa League group stage campaign away in Austria.

Collins is concerned about the ruthlessness of European football compared to the Scottish Premiership, where he believes mistakes are not often punished.

"If you make mistakes at this level you get punished", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"If you make mistakes in the SPL sometimes you don't get punished.

"The reality is in Europe you do so we've got to make sure we're tight, we're organised, when the chances come we've got to take them."

Collins also admitted that from Celtic's point of view a draw away at Red Bull Salzburg would be an acceptable result, with the Bhoys aiming to capitalise on their home games.

"We'll set out to try and win the game but I don't think a draw would be a bad result.

"It's not a knockout tournament, it's a group, so we'll have them all back at Celtic Park, but we want to win every game."
