Leeds United caretaker manager Neil Redfearn is doing his best to keep the club's players settled despite continuing uncertainty over who their next boss will be.

Owner Massimo Cellino sacked David Hockaday as boss following a run of three defeats in the club's first four Championship games.

Cellino drafted in academy chief Redfearn to fill in until a permanent replacement can be found and the former midfielder has led the club to two wins and one draw in his three games in charge.

A number of names have been linked with the job, most recently Sturm Graz coach Darko Milanic, however uncertainty still hangs in the air at Elland Road.

And Redfearn admits he is working overtime to keep the squad isolated, while also praising the players for their approach and commitment to getting on with their work.

"The advantage that I've got is that I've been at the club a while and I know the young players inside out. I've had a look at the lads that came in in pre-season from afar, so I'm in half a position to put things together and do something about it", Redfearn told a press conference.

"You try and get as much normality as you can. The last thing the players need is unsettling. But I think they've coped really well. I think they've lost themselves in training.

"They've sort of bought into what I want to do, but I want them to play, to have the ball. And usually if you're a professional footballer that's what you want to do.

"It's just a case of uncomplicating things and giving them the responsibility", he added.
