Celtic winger Aleksandar Tonev has been hit with a charge of racially abusing Aberdeen defender Shay Logan.

Tonev, who is on a season-long loan at the Bhoys from Premier League side Aston Villa, has been summoned to a Scottish Football Association hearing about the matter, to take place on 9th October.



The 24-year-old has been charged with "excessive misconduct by the use of offensive, insulting and abusive language of a racist nature".

Tonev has until 26th September to respond.

 


The match between Celtic and Aberdeen took place last weekend and resulted in a 2-1 win for the Bhoys.
