Sam Allardyce has asked his West Ham side to exploit Liverpool’s attacking style of play to their own advantage when the two sides lock horns.

The Hammers are 13th in the Premier League table and will host eighth-place Liverpool tomorrow at Upton Park.

Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back from a narrow 1-0 defeat at Anfield against Aston Villa last Saturday, while West Ham will be looking to register their first points at home this season.

Allardyce stressed that West Ham need to make good use of the ball when they have it and try to exploit the gaps created by Liverpool’s attacking style of football.

"I think one of the most important things will be how well we look after the ball, and what we do with it when we've got it”, the West Ham manager told the club’s official site.

“They leave a few gaps due to the attacking style they play, so we'll have to exploit them when we can.”

The Hammers boss admits that they might not see as much of the ball as they usually do, therefore it becomes more important for West Ham to convert from the limited chances they will create against the Reds.

“We might not get as much possession as we usually do so we'll have to make the most of it, and take the chances we create.”
