Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has dubbed his side's 5-3 win over Manchester United today as the best moment of his career so far and revealed the Foxes had identified the Red Devils' weaknesses throughout the week leading up to the match.

Manchester United took the lead through Robin van Persie in the 13th minute, before a sublime chipped goal from Angel di Maria three minutes later gave Louis van Gaal's men a 2-0 lead and looked to have set them on course for victory.

However, Leicester hit back straight away through Leonardo Ulloa (17th minute), proving they still had fight left.

The second half was full of drama as Ander Herrera put Manchester United 3-1 up in the 57th minute, but it only stirred a Leicester comeback.

First David Nugent pulled a goal back from the penalty spot in the 62nd minute, before Esteban Cambiasso grabbed a goal in the 64th minute.

Vardy then scored in the 79th minute and Ulloa tucked home a penalty in the 83rd minute to seal the deal, while Manchester United had Tyler Blackett sent off.

And Vardy, who three years ago was playing lower league football, was quick to express his delight.

"It's absolutely brilliant, you can can see what it means to the fans as well", he told Sky Sports.

"We've looked into them all week and found their weaknesses. We knew [at 3-1 down] it was a tough mountain to climb, but we know we've got goals in the team."

Asked if it was the best day of his career, Vardy replied: "Yes, definitely up to now. But now we move on to the next one."
