Barcelona vice-president Manel Arroyo insists that his club need to comfort new boy Luis Suarez in order to help him cope with a difficult situation.

The striker has been banned from all form of football related activity for four months after he bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup encounter this summer.

And as he serves his ban, while still trying to adapt to the atmosphere of his new club, Arroyo believes that the entire club should stand by him in order to help him recover from the situation.

He also stressed the importance of forgetting about Suarez's past and concentrating on his future as the Uruguayan prepares to return to action against their rivals Real Madrid in October.

"The player knows perfectly well what happened and the way to act", Arroyo was quoted as saying by ITV.

"What we need to do is comfort him as a huge player and that's all. Normality is the way we deal with these situations.

"We are just concentrating on the future. What happened in the past, happened and the results we have now.

"We are working with him and we are just hopeful he can make his debut against Real Madrid.

"The image today of Suarez is of a huge player, there is not a huge debate about that. He received a penalty for what he did."

The former Liverpool striker meanwhile scored twice as Barcelona's B side beat an Indonesian Under-19s select XI 6-0 in a friendly on Wednesday.
