Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini today chose to remain non-committal on Frank Lampard’s future at the club.

The former Chelsea midfielder joined the club on a short loan from MLS side New York City FC this summer, and has become a fan favourite at the Etihad Stadium.

He has scored three goals in the last two games for Manchester City, leading to suggestions that he might extend his stay in England beyond January.

Pellegrini did indicate yesterday that he is contemplating extending Lampard’s stay at the club, but the player himself refused to speculate on his future.

"I'm signed here until January, so that's all I can say at the minute", the midfielder said.

The Manchester City manager today admitted that a call on Lampard’s future at the club will be taken at an opportune moment.

"It's not a problem we have to analyse at this moment", the Chilean said via his club's feed.

"We'll see after the loan finishes what we're going to do."
