Arjen Robben believes he is being denied clear penalties because of an image he has earned for being a diver.

The winger admitted to diving in the World Cup this summer, a tournament in which he shone and helped the Netherlands to a finish of third place.

However, he feels he now has a reputation as a diver amongst referees which is now seeing clear penalties not being given.

As a case in point Robben was unhappy with being denied a penalty during Bayern Munich's 2-0 win away at 1.FC Koln in the Bundesliga today.

"During the World Cup I made a mistake and I recognised that", he told reporters, speaking about admitting to a dive.

"But now it seems that I am being punished for that", he continued.

"You should always look at yourself in the mirror, but I can't take this.

"It was a clear penalty and the referee did not give it.

"I have to accept that. It will probably happen again this season."
