Former Feyenoord star Jan Everse has revealed that the Dutch giants had the opportunity to sign strikers Diafra Sakho and Stefan Scepovic earlier this summer.

Everse has claimed that both Sakho and Scepovic were offered to Feyenoord as potential signings, but the Rotterdam outfit opted against pushing to take either to De Kuip.

In the end Sakho headed from Metz to English side West Ham, while Scepovic swapped Sporting Gijon for Scottish champions Celtic. And Everse is bemused at why Feyenoord did not pounce for either.

"I know for certain that this summer, two good strikers were offered to Feyenoord", Everse told Dutch broadcaster NOS.

"The first is Diafra Sakho, from Senegal. I'd have picked up his passport to get him over here.
