Lionel Messi has reflected upon reaching the career milestone of 400 goals, explaining he could never have imagined hitting the back of the net so often.
The 27-year-old scored twice against Granada in La Liga on Saturday, as Barcelona eased to a comfortable 6-0 victory.
The brace took Messi to 401 goals for his career, earned in 506 appearances over the course of his career.
"I never imagined I could achieve anything like this in my career", Messi wrote on his Facebook page.
"I'll continue working hard to reach more targets", he added.

Messi has hit 359 goals for Barcelona since he made his debut for the club in 2004.
The Argentina international has also hit 42 goals for his national team.
