Celtic striker John Guidetti has revealed he was dreaming of lining up against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League this week and is disappointed to miss out.

Guidetti, who scored both goals in his side's 2-1 weekend win over St Mirren, saw his transfer to Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City finalised too late to be included in the Bhoys' Europa League squad.

As a result the Swede will be watching from the stands when Celtic take on Dinamo Zagreb this Thursday.

And the striker had been looking forward to facing the Croatian giants.

"The boys are going to do fantastic", he was quoted as saying by the BBC.

"I'm going to watch from the stands, which is even worse because you get more nervous.

"Of course it's frustrating. This was the game I would love to play also. This is life and I have 100% belief in the boys that they're going to do well", Guidetti concluded.

Celtic are likely to turn to another summer signing in the shape of Stefan Scepovic to fill Guidetti's spot as the side's central striker against Dinamo Zagreb.
