Leeds United legend Eddie Gray believes that the club's new manager Darko Milanic has been left with the impression there is a lot of work to be done at Elland Road following a 2-0 defeat away at Brentford on Saturday.

The Whites headed into the game on a good run of form, having won three and draw one of their last four Championship games under caretaker boss Neil Redfearn.

But Leeds, lining up under Milanic for the first time, were second best throughout the contest at Griffin Park and could consider themselves lucky to only lose by a 2-0 scoreline.

And Gray thinks Milanic will be left with a negative impression of the team following the Championship match.

"You don't like to lose games. He'll look at the game, it's the first time he's seen Leeds United play, and he'll actually look at this game and think 'there's a lot to do'", Gray told LUTV.

"You've got a couple of young boys in the midfield area. They never really got to grips with the game, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt. They did okay, but they're young players. And the rest of the players….

"You couldn't actually put your hand on your heart and say that any of the outfield players played well."

Leeds are next in action on Wednesday evening when Reading visit Elland Road for a Championship clash.
