New Leeds United boss Darko Milanic insists he does not feel under pressure, despite knowing owner Massimo Cellino could be quick to sack him if results are not positive.

Cellino has a reputation for dispensing with managers and went through 36 during his time as owner at Serie A side Cagliari. Milanic is also the third permanent boss under Cellino at Leeds despite the Italian only buying the club earlier this year.

But Milanic, who lost his first match as Leeds manager 2-0 at the weekend to Brentford, does not feel Cellino breathing down his neck just yet.

"I don't feel under pressure", he told the BBC.

Milanic also saluted Cellino's football knowledge, praising a meeting held with the Italian after the Brentford game as "constructive".

"I talked with him after the match. I had a meeting with him and like I've said before, he knows football, he's very intelligent and we had a very constructive meeting", the Slovenian explained.

Milanic, who won four Slovenian league titles with NK Maribor, also believes that if he cannot guide Leeds to positive results then it is only natural his job should be under threat.

"He [Cellino] said to me when he met me the first time that he wants to give me time to improve the squad. But also if I don’t win the games it’s normal for the coach [to be sacked]. I'm prepared", the manager, whose family are still in Austria where he coached Stum Graz, added.
