Danny Welbeck believes he has hard yards to put in on the training pitch for Arsenal as he looks to be more involved in their upcoming games.

The striker, who Arsenal signed from Manchester United for £16m in the summer, feels he was not as involved in Saturday's north London derby against Tottenham as he would have liked, being unable to truly influence the game.

Welbeck has now vowed to put in work on the training pitch to ensure he can be a difference-maker for Arsene Wenger's men.

"In the first half I was more of a threat, in the second I didn’t really feel like I did as much as I should have", Welbeck told his club's site, referring to Saturday's 1-1 draw.

"I am a bit disappointed with that and I will work on the training pitch with the rest of the players and hopefully be involved much more throughout our games", he added.

Welbeck scored his first goal for Arsenal in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month.

The striker will be aiming to add to his tally tomorrow when the Gunners host Turkish giants Galatasaray in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium.
