Liverpool striker Fabio Borini feels it will take time for the club to show their best this season due to the arrival of a number of new players in the summer.

The Reds drafted in a raft of new faces, including Dejan Lovren in defence, Lazar Markovic, Emre Can and Adam Lallana in midfield, and Mario Balotelli up front.

They have started the season slowly and presently sit just 14th in the Premier League, while a last minute penalty was needed to beat Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets Razgrad in their opening Champions League group game.

Borini though is not surprised, feeling it will take time for the new arrivals to get up to speed with life at Anfield.

"Playing more together is going to help to gel all of the new players into the team and the style of play that we want to play here", he told his club's site.

"That's going to take time, as is learning a new language for some of them. It's going to take time.

"For a team that wants to win, you can't rely on only one player", the Italian continued.

"So we need to build up team play and be confident in ourselves. The team is made up of individuals and if the individuals all work well together they are going to create a good team performance."
